A little more about Jo …
I work with you in a confidential and ethical way to help you set meaningful career goals.
As well as working with individual clients, I also work with organisations delivering facilitated workshops, individual career assessments, career transition (voluntary and involuntary), team building, coaching, mentoring and training.
I have worked extensively with people in career transition across multiple industries and professions ranging from graduates through to senior executives.
My employment history has strongly focussed on government and I understand intimately how it works. This enables me to assist people wishing to enter, move or seek promotion in the public sector. I have also worked extensively with the higher education sector and had exposure to many other industries such as mining, manufacturing, printing, community services, health care, technology, not for profit, etc.
I hold several qualifications including a Master of Career Development, a Bachelor of Education (Adult and Workplace Education), a Diploma of Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I hold specialist accreditations for the Myers Briggs Type Indicator®, True Colours® and a ICCP Executive Coaching Certificate (Institute of Coaching and Consulting Psychology) (Sydney University) as well as several others.
I am a Life Member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), having progressed from Professional to Fellow, and in September 2019 I was recognised and honoured by being awarded Life Membership. I have served on the National Executive Committee for six years including National Secretary (2013-17) and General Committee Member (2011-2012) and as Vice-President of the Queensland Division. I am also a member of the International True Colours Association.
With my strong commitment to mentoring, I have been (or am) involved in formal mentoring programs through Queensland University of Technology (QUT) (2009 - present), Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and CDAA. In 2015 and 2016 I was nominated as Mentor of the Year in the QUT Mentoring Program and in 2016 I received a highly-commended Award from CDAA for leadership within CDAA.
