I love to work with people from all walks of life and all stages of life to help them discover what the next steps in their career journey might look like.
I think everyone should have the opportunity to “Do what you love and Love what you do” – I know I do!
One of the things that inspires me most is hearing your story – not just about your career but your life story as well – the two are inextricably connected. I am always in awe of what people have done, where they have come from or been, what they know, what they have achieved and what “floats their boat” and I learn much from each person I meet.
My approach is to empower you to greater self-awareness of your capabilities, strengths, personal qualities, values and career goals through a process of self-assessment. I’m all about evidence – self-assessment shows you the evidence of your achievements to help you realise just how much you have to offer. And I believe that through this personal reflection you will gain enhanced self-esteem and it will help you to understand what you bring to your career environment and what you want to get out of your career. Only then can you effectively identify your preferred career direction, seek out meaningful opportunities and market yourself against role/s you are targeting or set tangible goals for the future.
The analogy I use is to explain my process is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Through conversation we unpack all the pieces that make you who you are and then we put the puzzle back together, identifying themes, meaning, strengths, likes, dislikes etc. as we go. This then helps us look at both the detail of your life and the bigger picture. This self-assessment allows us to then identify potential career and life goals.
I have been privileged to develop a depth and breadth of experience, capabilities and knowledge through my own career journey which has spanned more than 40 years in human resources, career development, adult and workplace education and management; that’s what makes it possible for me to tailor the right program for you.
I very much look forward to the opportunity to support your career goals.
